How does SDA recognize excellence in its members and chapters?

Members and chapters that meet specific criteria and exemplify the core values of SDA are eligible for a variety of awards including the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award, and Star Award.

It's time to start planning out your chapter's award submissions! The National Awards Committee looks forward to receiving your chapter Star Award nomination as well as the Lifetime Achievement. These awards serve as an essential part of recognizing the excellence of our chapters and members! Deadline for submission of nominations is Friday, April 3, 2026.

Lifetime Achievement

This prestigious award is presented annually to a member who has made continued and significant contributions to the SDA throughout their membership.

Evaluation is based on the descriptive essay of the nominee’s achievements, letter of reference from nominee’s supervisor and/or professional peer, and volume and type of SDA involvement. Star Award for Members

The purpose of this award is to recognize the service and dedication of individuals to SDA.

It is given for significant contributions to the membership of a Chapter or the entire Society through participation in and support of its meetings and publications, fundraising, recruitment, or other significant activities. Congratulations to our 2025 Star Award winners.
